    Booby Kay

Does anybody know anything about Booby Kay? It's the tiny little island just off shore from Hedo. Is it protected? I mean are we allowed to go there? I've read that we can go there. I've read that we cannot go there. I've read that it is amazing. I've read that cats have taken over the island.

    Any info is appreciated!

We have been to Booby Cay Island several times. The hurricanes have really damaged the island and at last trip, nothing was really done to clean it up. If you are into shell hunting or secluded intimacy this is a great place. Just kayak over or sail over to the island. There used to be a local who grilled fresh sea food, haven't seen for a while though. Good luck Al

We were on the Island in Sept and went to "lobster Island" as we call it. They grilled us lobster and conch and had red stripe in a cooler. It was a good day. Unfortunately I believe Lobster is out of season in April when we return. We paddled a kayak over to it easily.

back in 1999 we went to Boobie Kay with one of the watersports members (tall nice looking Jamaican) he was our guide and introduced us to a few of the people on the island. we all went to the other side where he said if we wanted we could skinny dip. Since I love to be nude and so does hubby we jumped at the monent. Our guide decided to do the same. to make a long story short we ended up having a really hot time.. He earned his tip..LOL

We kayak'd over... It's an easy paddle, and a nice natural setting. We, as 3 couples, made it an "au naturel" setting. Grin.

We went to Hedo the first of April last year ..

They cook up lobster on the island and the woman sells red stripes for 3 dollars ea (us dollars)
The lobster is 20 per person -- with some conch and other fish -- awesome little spread.. cooked on a grate right on the beach.
Really rustic --bamboo benches --pee in the sea --you understand

Instead of negotiating on price we just negotiated for more food.
Paid one the the fishing boats 10 per person to take us out and bring us back. -they are always by the pier so I didn't figure they would screw us.
Told the guard on the pier where we were going.

Lobster is out of season as of April 1 so instead we got some "man conch" -- damn thing looked like lobster but that is out of season and illegeal so they sell "man conch"-- don't ask for lobster because they just don't have them -- ask about man conch after Apr 1

A real good time -- We are definitely doing it again. Maybe take some prepared drinks or some redtstripes - the old lady is raking in a fortune.

It's the island right off the point. Take flip flops it is rocky, a towel to hang out on when on the beach. This year we will pack more drinks.
We went for lunch with another couple and had a great time. Man conch though. (right) smoked a fatty, had a few red stripes, it was a great way to do something different.
