Cost of taxi or Tim Air?

I cannot believe I can't find this by searching either here or on DP's but I can't seem to find a post that indicates recent costs for a private taxi or taking Tim Air from MBJ to H2.

Can anyone help me out? I must be using the wrong words to search if anyone can find a recent thread or just post the prices for me I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks but they don't have rates on their website - you have to send a quote request and I don't want that...this is just info for other guests so I just need an estimate plus the usual cost of a taxi.

We took timair in July of 09 and it was $418 per couple round trip. They are in the main terminal now as well, worked out great.
    Hope this helps.

Shared taxi is $15-20.. A private taxi is between $50-80..
Tim air has quoted me at $94pp for 4 people in the plane.. So $94+ pp but that also depends on what time of year..

Trip advisor routinely has this. (There's usually 1-2 threads per week.) The info above is right. Timair is now about $100pp each way. Private taxis are ~$60US/couple one way. JUTA van service is ~$20pp each way. Enjoy!

We took the charter flight from MBJ on our first trip to Hedo and it was fun. Great views of jamaica from the air and our pilot even did a slow circle over Hedo for us so we got to see it from the air too.

The downsides are that 1) You miss the fun on the bus. If you get a bus full of only Hedo folks the party starts when the bus doors close. 2 trips back the gals were naked on the bus before we were even out of Mobay. 2) It doesn't save that much time. With the road improved as it is you might be saving 30 minutes. And 3) These are small light aircraft that fly VFR (Visual Flight Rules) any bad weather can delay or cancel your flight back to MBJ. You could find yourself at the Negril airstrip and have it also be too late to get to your flight home by taxi.

Glad we did it once, wouldn't spend the money for it again.

We're using TimAir on Oct 31th. We have used them several times from Negril to Ocho but never from MBJ to Negril. The last time the bus ride from MBJ to Negril took us 1 1/2 hours .
I just made reservation's a few weeks ago and this is part of their reply.
    Hope this helps !

    From TimAir :
Thank you for your e-mail. TimAir Limited provides air taxi charters to
Negril (not a scheduled service). This means that we will depart as soon as
you have checked in with us. Flying time is 15 minutes. Flights are only
    available during daylight hours.

The one-way price is US $108.00 per person, inclusive of all fees and taxes,
subject to a minimum of two (2) passengers. The roundtrip price is US
    $210.00 per person.

Thanks everyone! As I said I'm just getting current prices for guest info but you'll see us on the bus! We've never bothered with a private taxi or flight.

We always use the same taxi. We call the driver in advance and give him the flight number and time and he is always there on time. Price for two is $80. It's a nice way to travel in a clean, well maintained vehicle, and we know the driver. The price also includes a great conversation on local politics.

WE have been using Tim Air for a long time. Wife can not handle the bus ride but can handle a 15 minute flight. A lot of people say for the money you can book an additional day at Hedo. However, we are already booking the most time we can spent there so that doesnt mean naything to us. This year our frlight out of Philly is at 6am and we are suppose to be at MoBay at 9:30 am. If things go as in the past we will be at Hedo by 10:45am. By booking ahead of time they will have some one waiting for you when you walk out of the customs area. A few years back we kidded them about being frequent fliers and we both got tim air hats.

We just reserved a Lincoln Town Car through Montego Bay Limos. It runs 125 with no lines and the body cavity search can be done at the Hedo Pool if you miss that part of airport security.
