    Myrtle Beach in November

Hello everyone, thanks for your responses in advance.

We are looking at going to Myrtle Beach the week of 13-21 November.

ANY ideas or info is GREATLY appreciated.
Things to do, places to go, things we must do, places to avoid etc...

Would love to be in an ADULT hotel beach front, indoor and outdoor pools.
    Not sure what to expect.

This is another trip for us to check out a location on our hunt for a place to settle when we retire in 2 years.

Anyone live in the area? Meet up/show us around?

Myrtle Beach is mostly aimed at lower middle to middle class families as well as to golfers. There are many golf courses and also several "theaters" similar if not identical to what you would find in Gatlinburg, TN or Branson, MO. The beaches are fair but it is not the sort of clear water you would find in FL or the Carribbean. There are lots of factory outlets and various other places to eat or shop. For me, spending much of my life 100 miles away it is a easy place to visit for a day or two but any longer than that there are many many places that offer more for most people and in places like FL with no income or personal property taxes.

I sent a PM with a specific place to try out. As for an ADULT hotel, to my knowledge there isn't any. North Myrtle Beach tends to be quieter and an older crowd, most of the entertainment is on the South side of the beach. In November, I am not sure much will be open in the area. I am pretty sure it will be too cold to swim in the ocean or outdoor pools so you probably want to look at Hotels with Indoor pools. Expect this trip to cost as much as a trip to Hedo (maybe even more) unless you go shopping rather than going to restaurants. For a true "retirement" test, you can find houses to rent about 2-3 blocks from the beach for pretty cheap (mostly on the North side). Watch out for the tag team sales people in the souvenieer shops. 1 will distract you while the other runs your bill up. As with any vacation, it can be great or miserable depending on what you make it. Just remember, it will be November, don't expect it to be the same as it would be during the summer and you will have a good time.

MB is a family tourist vacation spot. There is a lot to do there but not a lot of Adult Resorts if any. There is a nice town a little south of Myrtle Beach that is a great place to retire called Pawley's Island. There is also a SC lifestyle conference held in Myrtle Beach every year if you are interested in that.

    Thanks for the advice.
Been doing research and it looks like it would be just as much money as to travel to a carribean resort.
Not sure yet what the plans will be!
