We just used them for the first time after tons of searching everywhere and got the best rate on our room from them. As for customer service, both Judy and Jennifer have called to be sure all is ok with our booking and if we have any other questions, never short with me.

We have had good service from them. I got a quote from another TA and asked Jennifer if she could beat the price, she did. She also advised me that I could save money if I got my own air travel. Originally I had requested a pool front room at the the Quad and none was available. I called Jennifer a few weeks ago to see if any pool front rooms had become availabe, they had, and was able to upgrade. All in all, pretty seamless and am happy with the results. See ya there.

People who know me on this site know I am NOT a fan of Castaways. After many trips to HIII (booked through another agency), I was approached to join a group that was using Castaways (this was in 2008) over the timeframe I was going. I joined and booked through them. Nightmare from the beginning. I personally think they are the rudest (Jennifer, especially, who is the Manager), most unprofessional TA around. ALOT of the Groups on this site use them. Actually, if it was not for the groups, I find it hard to believe they would be in business. And, please, their "so-called" contracted group rates are a joke-----VERY high. I rec'd a quote from them for NYE (H2) this year and it was the highest of the three major TA's that book with the Hedo's.

So no, it is NOT just you guys who have had issues w/ Castaways. Feel free to PM me if you want. At this point, just get to Hedo and enjoy, relax, partay........it's all good! Just know you have learned a lesson and won't repeat it! Cheers!

P.S. For my fellow friends who use Castaways (Buttaways---oops---lmfao), bring it on! LOLOLOLOLOL....I can't wait to hear from you all and know I still luv ya!!

I know MANY groups (and people in those groups) on this site book through them and have NOT a bit of a problem. I dont know if its b/c im female (it seems that most of the bad experience posts are from women) or if its b/c I asked some questions and wanted/needed a bit more attention but....
I had a problem with them - well not really them but Jennifer - she was very short and i felt it came across as rude - i had some questions (mostly what was the difference in price b/w pool front and pool view) wanted to know some what ifs (and i am always over and beyond exceptionally polite when im asking things slightly beyond the standard) she made me feel like it was a burden and i was an idiot (with her tone and huffs). However i was booking with a group that was going with castaways so i had to use them. I had booked a previous trip with WWV, Robert always spent tons of time with me going over options and possibilities all the while with enjoyable conversation and laughter.
Then when the whole closing of H3 came out (I waited @ 2 weeks after the announcement) I wanted to make sure we would be able to switch over to H2 (before it got sold out) I spoke to Jennifer explaining that I felt there were going to be too many changes to H3 to stay. She acted like the changes to h3 (when it was to reopen as superfun) weren't a big deal and that it was a put out for her to have to switch the reservations, "that they were only switching the reservations for when h3 was going to be closed". The worst part was when she wanted to charge me the current rate which was at least 100 more per night (i had originally booked several months earlier when there was an "early bird special" ). I questioned her (gently - not rudely at all) about the increase in price to switch resorts and she just told me "that is what they were currently booking at". I had to get off the phone call Robert from Wild Women Vacations (both he and Denny P's website said that Superclubs would be honoring the prices if you wanted to switch) he advised me to speak to the owners of Castaways. I wasn't able to, they were out of town. So after firmly but politely telling Jennifer that I had been told by other TA's that supposedly SC were going to be honoring the price I booked at, she put me on hold for about 5 minutes and came back with a story about how they just changed it that day (which i knew to be untrue) and she/they would honor the price. (she must have just wanted to cancel my h3 trip and rebook as a "new" H2 trip instead of transferring the existing reservations. Had I not spoken to another TA I may have canceled my trip (which she seemed to have no problem with) or had to pay an additional $800.
In the end its not a big deal b/c it got sorted out - but I had to do the "sorting out" which is what the TA is supposed to do. However i wont book with them in the future (unless a group i was interested in required it) b/c of how i felt i was treated (the first time) and how either unknowledgeable (or deceitful) she came across (the second time).

We've never used Castaways (always use DennyP), but I've been involved in management my whole career and now teach it. From what I've read here it sounds like Jennifer needs a talking to (at the very least). Why would any company want someone with that attitude interacting with their customers?

I recently tried to book a trip to H2 through Castaways and finally gave up- yes, it was Jennifer I was communicating with. I'd send her questions which she would ignore, quote me rates with no explanation as to type of room, and then when I finally was going to book through her anyway because I just wanted to get it done, she said she would be out of the office and to contact so-and-so. So-and-so was even worse.

So I emailed DennyP Travel and had a room within hours- cheaper than anything Castaways had quoted, and with all my questions answered.

We go to H2 three times a year and have used Castaways for the last six years and never had any problems with airlines or rooms. Jennifer has always done a great job for us. Sorry you had problems.

Glad it worked out, Alyit. Exactly what you experienced is the problem with Castaways. I have, and only will, use Robert as he gives the BEST rates and GREAT personalized service. For those who want to know, Robert with WW Vacations is a TA and ANYONE can use him at any time of the year. You don't have to go on one of his and Beth's trips! Cheers everyone!!!

I second that about Robert - he is awesome. so friendly, pleasant and goes out of his way. Even through the whole craziness that was going on, with the possible closing and then assured closing of H3, when he had to make major changes to their WW trips, he STILL made time for me. I had a crazy kind of reservation and called him MANY times with what if questions, (he made me comfortable enough to do that) he always had plenty of time for me and NEVER seemed like I was a even a bit of a bother at all. like i said in my previous post he even helped me with my booking problem at castaways - thats what i call service and how i will always expect TA's to be now.

We have been using Castaways for 3 years and no problem - we have had our bookings right, even changed dates the last minute, and they have done it for us. Jennifer has been very prompt and helpful. Flight is another matter. With Expedia, Orbitz and direct internet bookings, use of Travel Agent is dinsarous like. For instance for 2011, we had booked Thursday- Sat (9 days). While doing our flights we found US airways flight 30% cheaper if we flew Friday and returned Sunday next. Called, Jennifer had the dates changed promptly and bought the cheaper flight. In the internet age, unfortunately most work has to be done by the consumer - whether banking, buying from Amazon or flights. By transferring labor to the consumer they are able to provide services and goods at a cheaper rate. If anyone wishes to do old style - first of all the new generation labor has been trained to deal with new generation consumer and may not anynore have the knowhow, and secondly - you have to pay higher fees as labor is a high component of total costs. Enjoy!!
