Started out in Miami airport, what a zoo! Sat there looking at all the other couples trying to figure out who was going to Hedo versus the other clubs. Pinpointed one couple that I thought was going and sure enough, they ended up getting on our Hedo II bus. Got to know them and Wow! they actually lived only 30 minutes away from us! Gloria and Tom, we immediately hit it off and now have friends for life!
We were so excited about this trip and had no idea what to expect, so we we were a bit nervous upon our arrival. Check in was easy. I actually had a list of rooms that we really wanted in the nude garden view side and they gave us one of them. Upon being shown to our room, we immediately did what all of you Hedo vets said to do.....we stripped down, grabbed our towel cards and headed to the nude pool. At first, it was a bit intimidating but we quickly became very comfortable.
We now know what a hummingbird, purple mother fucker and Delroy special is. Arrived at the resort at 12:30pm and was in the nude pool by 1:30pm with a Hummingbird in hand. Those things are dangerous! By day two I had to switch to something less fattening because I was getting back fat rolls! (joke among our group). Met some great couples right away. The thing we noticed is that when everyone is naked, you really engage in conversation without passing any judgements. We quickly formed a group that would end up meeting every day at the pool bar.
Each day was pretty much the same thing, get up, go get a Charlie omelet, back to the room to strip, to the nude pool by about 10am to start drinking all over again. There were some great games played in the pool, such as pool olympics (my team lost! but it was all good!) and The Fuck name game. I was named Juicy Fuck and my hubby was Oh! Fuck. I won that contest and quickly learned about Hedo bucks (got so many we ended up giving tons away). It rained one day only for about an hour but everybody crowded around the pool bar and Delroy kept the alcohol flowing. Make sure you bring a big covered mug for ice water. I believe this is what saved us from being hungover everyday.
The thing about Hedo that I think we both liked the best were the people. We met so many cool people, Johnny and Terri, Jeromy and Leslie, Tom and Tracy......you guys made our vacation a blast!
The rooms are ok, good enough for us, but hey, who spends much time in the room??The showers are weird and it took a couple of times using it to really figure them out. The funny thing is that when we checked in, the man helping us with our luggage put the TV on when we entered the room and immediately PORN was on the TV. He says to my husband "This is my favorite channel" and my husband says "Is this the only channel we get?" and the guy says YES. Well, I will tell you that we watched porn for 4 days, with me thinking that this was the only channel. I felt brain washed by PORN! Then.....on day 5, Tracy comes in the pool and says "Guess what I watched last night?" I say "PORN?" and laughed and she says "no, the Sixth Sense with Bruce Willis on HBO" and I say "you have HBO in your room?" and my husband busts out laughing. Seems I AM too gullible, I believed him about the only channel being porn.
The food at the buffet was not really good so we ate the jerk chicken by the pool most days. I was VERY disappointed in the buffet, expecting at least something edible. Thank the Lord there was the Japanese and Italian place. The food there was exceptional! Although, one word of warning, don't order a Caesar Salald expecting that. It was lettuce, shredded cabbage and mayo as the dressing. Disgusting! Tuesday was our 25th anniversary and at the Japanese restaurant, the staff brought a chocolate cake out for us. It was the BEST chocolate cake we've ever had! Thank you Hedo staff!
The nights were exhausting and awesome at the same time. We would start out in the main dining hall enjoying the shows. Winston, Dwight, Ferrario, Sticky Nicky, Crystalee were great EC's and gave us great entertainment. The bands were great as well.
About 10:30pm, everybody would head to the piano bar for either Karaoke or Dion's playing. Dion got us good! On Tuesday, our anniversary day, he had hubby and I get on the piano. Being our first time, we didn't know what was going on. He played Red Red Wine and had me strip hubby, then he made me strip. THEN.....he had me put my pink lace dress on hubby! Everyone was rolling on the floor laughing! We had a lot of fun in the piano bar, but I wish the piano bar sing a long book had better choices of songs.
About 12:30am, we would head to the disco. Had a great time in there dancing, however, it was so hot, we rarely ever lasted more than an hour in there.
Then off to the hot tub. Now we've heard and read many stories about that hot tub, however, we never really saw the things we read about. It was pretty tame. We would sit and laugh, however, at the single guys who strategically placed themselves in each corner.
We had a rock painted for our anniversary. I hope it doesn't get moved so we can keep adding years to it each time we go.
Well, we had so much fun, that we've already booked our second trip, in September. Going with Gloria and Tom again! Hedo II gave us the best anniversary party we could ever have. Now we have to count down the days yet again until we are back HOME at Hedo! DIF has already set in.
