Swimming and Floating in the Ocean

Can you float and swim in the ocean on the nude beach at H-3 or is it to rough of water to really enjoy.

The beach is protected by a jetty that leaves the water just off the beach calm and smooth. As you get out towards the jetty- not far maybe 120 feet- there can be some cross current, but even then not bad. The water is shallow and you can easily walk around while laying on a raft with your feet dangling down. We spent part of hurricane Charlie out there as it sideswiped the island- 40-50 mph winds going by- the security guard telling us to come in... us saying nah.. we're good. It was awesome.

yes you can - it's enjoyable - just make sure you have some watershoes on....we saw a lady our last trip that stepped on a sea urchin and ruined the last day of her vacation

From our experience the ocean is calm and pleasent most of the time. The north shore of Jamaica is the rough one...

I am not sure what you mean? H2 is on the West shore which means calm seas because of the off shore flow. H3 was usually windy because of the on shore flow do to it is on the North side of the island. So many of our trips to the Negril side have been calm seas and warm waters...

lol...we go at the end of July, first part of August every year to H3. No problems at H3, one no sunshine day in the 10 years we have been going at that time. The damage we have always read about and heard was from the "other" side of the island.

While we've never been there during a hurricane, there is no "sea" to speak of on the beach at H2. There aren't even little waves. In fact, I've seen more waves in the pool when some activity is going on!
