I would recommend staying further down the beach, somewhere after margaritaville and before the town, by far the best bits of beach and it's more lively ad there's more choice for bars , restaurants...

i am keeping an eye on the weather using CocoLaPalm hotel webcams, its located in the middle of the 7 mile beach in negril..just a couple miles from the point where hedo is...

They sell them in negril but if they price them anything like they do cigarettes you are way better buying at duty free when you land, to give you an example a packet of 20 Marlboro cigarettes was...

There is a gas station with a small shop and atm less than 100m from the resort gate...I find prices for certain local snacks, tobacco and things like redbull are better than the gift shop...

I was just suggesting to buy it from a farmer as opposed to a 'vendor' as OP seemed peculiar about knowing the origin of what he's consuming..so can't beat going to the source...
And...

You will find ANYTHING , from edibles to herbals to hashes....just venture out of the resort...
you can even arrange for a 'tour' of a plantation so you can literally harvest your own...or pick your...

I always wondered if people from other resorts could sneak in, especially from point village side...without any bracelets would they really know?

We would bring down a few items of fresh fruit from the main buffet so they can blend them into smoothies at the beach...otherwise at the beach bar they only had bananas and pineapple...
