Haulover Beach or Tampa Caliente for a weekend trip?

For those that live in Florida if we are looking for a weekend trip what's better heading to Tampa Caliente Resort or down to Haulover Beach? We haven't been to either yet and were thinking about spending a weekend at one place or another.

Any info would be much appreciated.

Well I guess the obvious is one is a resort that's not on the beach and one is a beach that doesn't have a resort. There are nice beaches about an hour from Caliente but they are not clothing optional. This time of year, my choice would be Caliente since it's too hot to spend 2 or more full days at Haulover.

Thanks. We are leaning that way cause we have a clothing optional beach near us that we go to already so it would be something different. We were a little skeptical of Caliente because you have to call to make reservations instead of booking on site and we haven't seen a lot of reviews or recent activity in the Caliente portion of these forums like we do with Hedo. Looking at the website it looks very nice though. Thanks for the reply.

If you are still looking into going to Haulover Beach, there is a hotel near Haulover where you could stay at, it is just 10 minutes away in Hollywood Beach,FL called the RoofTop Resort. It is a nudist and lifestyle hotel. The RoofTop has a pool and a nightclub. The best time to go there is during the weekends. Spending time at both places make a great weekend trip.

We live in t Petersburg, so Caliente is just a short trip. We do weekend visits frequently.

For a vacation, I'd do the resort. You can be naked anywhere, any time, and the night-life is the biggest draw. At Caliente, the pool-area "rules" expire at sunset.

Thanks for the info, we were leaning towards Caliente if we end up doing anything since we frequent a clothing optional beach near us often just hadn't heard much about the resort. Thanks!
