Club Mo-Bay
Hello to all fellow Hedo fans!
We are planning our 2nd trip to Hedo and the last time we went we did not participate in Club Mo-Bay at the airport. Honestly, we did not have any trouble or delays upon our arrival and we had pre-booked a private car with Rocky's and they were waiting for us when we exited the airport and their service was great. On the return though it took us almost 2 hours from the time we entered the airport until the time we made it to our gate following a very slow check-in and security process. We then sat next to a guy on the plane that missed his flight the previous day because it took too long to get through the check-in and security process. Does Club Mo-Bay help with this at all on the return trip and if so, how? Thanks for the info!

We don't usually bother with Club Mobay upon arrival although it is nice to get the VIP treatment! Well worth it to do Mobay departure, the first perk is fast tracking through security in the special line up! The snacks and drinks (not much time for this on arrival) are unlimited and plenty of time to relax and enjoy while waiting for departing flight. They notify you when you need to leave to go to the gate and it's easy to leave and come back if you want to shop at duty free. If your flight is delayed if a person is at Club Mobay one is almost pleased especially if you are hanging with friends. If not, the peace and quiet is a lovely place for a nap, watch TV, read or check email.

It depends on when you're leaving. If it's during peak hours, club Mo-bay is a time saver.

We have always used mobay. To be honest sometimes it's worth it and sometimes it isn't. On the way in I like knowing I will be fast tracked and start my holida right away and on the way home the drinks and snacks usually pay for the service anyway. Not exactly a deal breaker but worth it for us.

How exactly does Club MoBay work? For example, we still have to get our boarding pass, check a bag and get through security. Can you do all that from within Club MoBay?
-
On departure, you will get your boarding pass and check your bags with the airlines as usual. There is a Club Mobay desk right outside the security screening area. A representative will walk you through immigration and security (there is a dedicated line for this). Then you go upstairs to their lounge (near gate 12) and enjoy food and drinks until time to board your flight. It's worth it, very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Free Wi-Fi is included.

We have been to MOBay 13 times and have never used Club Mobay for arrivals. Wait time at customs can vary from 10 mins to 1 hour or so. Last time was on a Thursday at 12:00 noon and we were through the airport in a total of 18 minutes plane to outside, so it can really vary. If you land when a big charter flight from Europe comes in it will be really crowded. Look up the arrivals at Sangster and make your decision. We always use it for departure as you have more time for food and drinks.
Most planes from overseas arrive 1 ish and these are big jets . Of course Friday and Saturdays are the busiest.

As others have stated...arrival is a crap shoot. We do both (our insurance against long lines), however; highly recommend departure. The transport companies will get you to leave for the airport 5 hours early in case of traffic...you usually arrive early and it's nice to bypass long security lines. Plus if you have a drink or two at the airport or something to eat...at airport drink/food prices, the departure lounge is a deal.

We arrive this Thursday at 1:27 - 7 planes arrive in the 30 minutes before us, that is at least 1400 people....Glad we have Club Mobay arrival :)

We used Club MoBay for arrival and departure last year and kick ourselves for not using it the previous 10-trips!! SO worth the extra money...and we get the round trip transfer thru them (it's shared bus, but we don't care) and it's cheaper than any other transfer. The departure service was SUPERB...we drank and ate our asses off and felt like we were still on vacation. haha!!

We used Club Mobay for the first time on our last trip. As others have said, it is a crap-shoot as to if you really need it or not. Like Sabinaandscot, we view it like an insurance policy; you might need it when arriving, you might not. Either way, you know you will be through immigration quick. For us, not having to worry about having to wait for immigration, is just as important as not waiting...if that makes sense.
I have posted this link of the youtube video before. Seeing the queue in the video convinced us. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIgHxKGOLVI
