I just checked prices for Sandals Negril vs Hedo. On the dates I chose, the least expensive room at Hedo would cost you $3206 while the least expensive room at Sandals would be $4172.

We've never been one to really be bothered by the rooms. I actually prefer the older style vs the trendy new ones. But very glad to hear they are upgrading all the bathrooms they were in need of a serious Reno.
Looks like for us Canadians Sunwing has just lowered their hotel only rates in Canadian dollars for some dates. Maybe sales were slow for anyone else but Americans due to their strong dollar.
Basic law of supply & demand. If Hedo or any hotel or airline retains high occupancy rates, prices increases. When demand subsides, prices decrease. Exchange rates will have some effect as will general inflation but the bottom line is supply & demand. Nothing wrong with that.
We have never been to Hedo and with this site and the prices today we never will be. We have found that for way less money we can go to Spain in the early or late seasons when there is little north american tourism and have a fantastic time with the locals during their fall festival especially. Being naked it seems in Spain is their right so many beaches are clothing optional. The food is always fantastic and the locals are in very healthy shape, if you get my meaning. Great scenery for the wife and myself.
Just my two cents
We've been to several beaches in Spain and loved it, particularly Sitges near Barcelona which is a primarily gay town but plenty of mixed. Sooo much fun. If we recall the beaches are topless but not full nude, anyone know if that recollection is correct?
Spain is wonderful no doubt. Hedo is something completely different and so much fun in it's own right. The people in Spain are very good looking, on that we surely agree. The food is great. But for a pure all out party without having to go anywhere and not take out your wallet or pocketbook for 7 days? H2 ohhhhhh.
If the price is too much, don't go.
If you think another resort is better, or a better value, go there.
Seems simple.
Cop..
I think the point is that many people who have been in the past and want to return now find it priced out of their means. It's pretty insensitive to tell them to just "don't go".
I would suggest a shorter stay or going every other year if price point is an issue.
It's not insensitive
If you can't afford to go you don't go
Posting it in here won't get the rates to go down
Nothing to be done
I feel bad for them, I don't want anyone to miss out on Hedo
