It will probably take a vaccination to get us back home...

To all fellow Hedo lovers... It stands to reason that borders will not be opened until the pandemic is under control. I know this is already obvious to many of you but, I keep seeing unrealistic postings about possible vacation dates. Scientists are saying it will take 12-18 months to create and produce a vaccination. I am actually pretty optimistic that it will take a bit less than that since so many scientists around the world are working on the problem and sharing data. A vaccination is not the only way for the pandemic to come to an end but, the other way, world wide herd immunity takes up to 2 years to develop and there is no clear cut moment to say, oh, it's ok, we're safe travel/we're not bringing anything to Jamaica. Tests are improving so another possibility might be that you take a test at the airport and need to test negative in order to fly. It's still taking days to process the current tests so I can't imagine that can be a thing anytime soon. Perhaps that could happen in less than a year. Maybe.
Anyway, I mean it, I'm an optimist but if you booked your trip for this summer, it's not happening. If you booked for fall, it's possible but at this point, looks unlikely. I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade, rather, I just think it's best to be realistic. I was supposed to be at YSW this past week and definitely have my fingers crossed that the party will be on by next March.
A lot of businesses will go under during this pandemic but I think Hedo will make it somehow! Certainly many of my travel dollars will go there ASAP!

Agree. We cancelled for April for 2020 and rescheduled for April 2021. If this all clears up by Sept, maybe we will catch a last minute deal, but realistically we are now looking forward to April 2021.
A test at the airport would be a disaster. Just think, you're all phyc'd up for Hedo then some minimum paid airport person says NO, you can't fly.
    Best to wait this out.
HEDO will be there when this is all over
Life is too short for drama and petty things, so kiss slowly,
laugh insanely, fuck like you're the star of a porn film, and forgive quickly.

For sure, there are many many uncertainties. However, I went ahead and moved my late May trip to September. My late May trip had a cancel for any reason waiver, and so does my September one. So I can be an optimist and practical at the same time.

    I agree as well.
E and I have rebooked for April 2021. It seemed the most logical, and least likely to suffer from ongoing travel bans.
